Ashley and Jeremy are a gorgeous couple who celebrated their modern elegance Virginia Beach wedding at The Yacht Club at Marina! They have been together for many years and have the most adorable daughter, who had a ball on their big day. Ashley’s dress from Ava Laurenne was a total show stopper, and the guys looked absolutely handsome in their hot pink suspenders! The couple decided on a first look- the beautiful landscaped lawn of the Oceanaire was the perfect background for this moment (people walking by cheered and clapped when they saw each other for the first time!). The ceremony space was decorated in shades of pink and grey, the day’s decorations personalized with quotes from their favorite band, Dave Matthews Band. We love their take on the reception area- full of sweet treats and non-stop dancing, these two truly had the time of their lives celebrating with their daughter, family, and friends. Keep reading to learn their wedding day inspiration, and Ashley’s advice for future brides!
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
From the Bride: Our wedding inspiration was “Modern Elegance”. I (Ashley) love peonies and hydrangeas, so we wanted to use colors and decor that were complimenting to those flowers. We went with the color combination of a deep shade of pink and gray/silver, with accents of white, and a pop of lime. I am instantly drawn to sparkly things, so we incorporated “bling” in a variety of ways within the centerpieces, decor, and the bouquets. I love the little details of weddings, so we incorporated a variety of little details throughout the venue decor. I pulled many ideas for the decor and the details from Pinteres. At the end of the day, it all came together exactly how I had envisioned it.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
Of course, the best part of the day was getting to marry my best friend. But, we loved the atmosphere of the entire reception. After a delicious dinner and several trips to the cookie tables and photo booth, our DJ, Larry from Astro Entertainment, got the party started and our guests danced the night away with glow sticks in hand. Larry had a phenomenal playlist that our guests enjoyed. Our dance floor was never empty and we enjoyed our time with friends and family.
Which local vendors made your day EXTRA special?
Incredible Edibles made our wedding cake (and Jeremy’s cheesecake). Not only did it look gorgeous, but it tasted amazing! Guests are still complimenting how delicious our wedding cake was!
Kelley Stinson Photography – Kelley and Elizabeth were amazing to work with. They captured all of the details of our special day. Kelley was so quick with providing us with a sneak peek of some of our photos-literally less than 48 hours!
Boardwalk Photo Booth Company – Our guests had a blast in the photo booth and we left with a scrapbook filled with all of the captured shenanigans that night! They brought a huge trunk filled with a great variety of props for our guests to choose from.
What is your best piece of advice for other local brides?
Our advice for brides and their grooms is to simply enjoy the day and take in every moment. It goes by so quickly, you won’t know where the day went. If something doesn’t get done, the only person that will notice is you. Take a few minutes after the ceremony to spend with your love and take it all in. Also, be sure to sit down and eat dinner; you’ll need energy out on the dance floor!
